Bejo believes in devoting time and resources to regions and countries that are in the early stages of agricultural development. We strongly feel that it is important to make practical agricultural knowledge, technology and high quality seed accessible to smallholder farmers.

As we have grown and expanded internationally during the past decades, we have paid particular attention to this aspect of business as well.

Our projects include:
  • Breeding and development of vegetable varieties that are particularly well suited to local climate conditions and making seeds of these varieties available to smallholder farmers.
  • Supporting local projects to improve farmers’ entrepreneurial opportunities, including teaching farming skills, improving local distribution of seeds and products, and encouraging cooperation between parties in the chain

We have programs in place in several areas in the world, such as West Africa, Asia and Central America.
