Centro Educativo Agricola Guatemala “Melanie Beemsterboer”.
In Guatemala children from farmer families regularly fall out of the school system. It was for this reason that Bejo established in 2004 the Centro Educativo Agricola Guatemala “ Melanie Beemsterboer” on the premises of the Parramo farm in Guatemala. A school that provides education for children between 12 and 15 years old of growers from different regions in Guatemala. The aim is to educate the children with better farming skills in particular and to help them get a better perspective for the future in general.
The school training is a 12 week program spread over a 6 months period for a group of around 15 children every semester. Theoretical lessons are combined with practical sessions in the field and excursions to agricultural companies.
Since the foundation the school counts 300 graduates. Teachers and employees of the foundation have been, and continue to be, inspired by the eagerness of the children to learn.
