Bejo is a founding partner of The Organic Farmers Fair, an international trade fair for know-how and innovation.

Organic farming is flourishing. The number of organic farmers is increasing worldwide. That means there’s a clear need for an international trade fair where growers can learn new techniques and view innovations that can optimize their organic process. Tuesday 12 through Thursday 14 June, Bejo will participate in TOFF, The Organic Farmers Fair, which will run alongside the GreenTech horticulture innovation fair in RAI Amsterdam.

Along with showcasing new developments in seed technology and resistance breeding, we will explain why Bejo believes that its commitment to ‘breeding for organic’ is essential for the future of the organic assortment. At Bejo, ‘breeding for organic’ means using, from the earliest possible stages, our broad genetic base and modern technologies to make constant improvements in the organic range. ‘Breeding for organic’ allows us to develop varieties with high yield and optimal resistance, to produce high quality seed, and to stimulate innovation. These are the key issues right now in the organic sector.

'breeding for organic’ is essential for the future of the organic assortment

Seeds for open field vegetables have been Bejo’s core business for over 100 years. In the 1960s Bejo was among the pioneers of modern crop breeding. In the 1990s we were one of the first breeders to take the step of giving organic growing a full place in our business.

The result is a vital cross-fertilization. On one hand, organic growing brings us inspiration and new ideas for sustainable conventional growing. On the other, we are building our organic line on a century’s worth of breeding expertise, experience and infrastructure. During TOFF we will demonstrate our know-how to both organic and conventional growers.

Visit our stand and talk to our representatives for more information. From 12 to 14 June you’ll find Bejo in Hall 8, stand T08.100 of RAI Amsterdam.
